Ready to move beyond basic quilting and start adding more of YOU to your quilts? This hands-on class is all about building your confidence with free-motion and custom quilting while creating a library of designs you can use again and again!
We’ll start with familiar shapes and motifs, then learn how to build on them, combine them, and create pathways that allow your quilting to flow smoothly from one design to the next. You’ll explore ways to fill spaces, connect motifs, and make intentional design choices that complement your quilt rather than simply fill it.
We’ll also play with thread choices and see how different threads can change the look of your quilting, add texture and dimension, and help certain details really stand out.
🧵 This is a free-motion/custom quilting-forward class. The hands-on portion will focus primarily on creating and stitching designs free-motion, giving you the opportunity to practice those skills and become more comfortable quilting without relying on computerized designs.
Pro-Stitcher users are welcome, too! While Pro-Stitcher will not be the primary focus of the hands-on portion, many of the design concepts can absolutely be carried over into computerized quilting. You’ll come away with a better understanding of where, why, and how to incorporate different motifs and designs into your custom quilting—whether you ultimately stitch them free-motion, with Pro-Stitcher, or use a combination of both.
