Head Chick In Charge…or some days the other Chicks just let me think I am in charge. Open a quilt shop, it’ll be fun they said….well THEY were right! Even though this is the hardest I have ever worked at any job I am loving it!
I learned to sew when I was 6 years old from my mom, who at the time owned a fabric store here in Ganado. At that time, I spent many days playing and learning lots of life skills in her fabric shop without even realizing it. This is where I learned the value of a button, my mom wasn’t very happy when I glued her entire collection of buttons to my clubhouse made from a box…hey, I needed shingles on my roof! I purchased my first sewing machine when I was only 8 years old with the money I earned raising a pig in 4-H and selling it at the county fair. I have been hooked ever since!
As life went on I became more and more involved with our local 4-H club with my two children, and that is how I began quilting. While getting ready for our annual fundraiser, we really wanted a quilt for our raffle tickets and realized, being 4-Hers, we should make our own….so we did! That is when I began teaching kids to sew and continued with our 4-H quilting and sewing adventures for about 18 years. Later, when my daughter was a senior in high school I realized I needed to do something for ME. That is when I came up with a PLAN! After a few years of working at that “plan,” Two Chicks Quilting finally came to be! Presently I am having a blast living my dream and I love sharing the love of quilting with everyone I meet.
Our Story
In January 2016, Two Chicks Quilting was born. I purchased a Handi Quilter Infinity longarm machine and began the journey to build a full service quilt shop in south Texas. Over time, Two Chicks Quilting has relocated twice and we are finally in our forever home bringing our customers an unforgettable shopping experience. Stay tuned for future additions to the property to provide a Retreat Center.
I am pleased that Two Chicks Quilting has evolved into a shop that provides an exceptional line of high-quality quilting fabrics as well as quilt patterns and notions to customers who share our passion! Two Chicks Quilting is your local sewing machine headquarters offering a wide variety of BERNINA, Brother, Janome and Handi Quilter machines. Additionally, we offer a top-notch education experience on all things quilting. Likewise, we have a full-time service technician who services any brand of sewing machine. Can’t finish those quilts by yourself? No worries, Two Chicks Quilting provides longarm quilting services too!

Nicole
I am the Shop Manager here at The Coop and I try to keep anyone from “laying an egg” LOL. My main goal as manager is to stay up to date on all machines, notions, fabrics, and classes so that we can bring top notch products and education to all of our Quilting Chicks! When I am not in The Coop you will find me at home chasing my “baby chicks”, sewing or enjoying the outdoors with my family.
Jamie
I’m Jamie, the Nerdy Chick. Here at Two Chicks Quilting I keep the lights on and accomplish all other bookkeeping tasks. I also help Marleigh with longarm quilting. In my spare time I enjoy playing games with my kids, sewing, watching the Houston Astros, and reading.
Karen
I am Karen, a retired school teacher, and I am the one that brings the “Sass” to the Class. When you come to The Coop I will help you find the perfect fabric or notions you need as well as set you up with your dream sewing or embroidery machine. When I am not at the shop…just kidding, I am ALWAYS at the shop!

Hey Ya’ll! I'm Ashley and over at Two Chicks I take care of shipping out all of your orders and goodies. I am the keeper of all secrets on exactly what your orders add up to…wink wink. Also, I assist with all of our Facebook Live Sales through CommentSold. In my spare time, I enjoy working on projects at home, baking, and being outside.
Marleigh
Howdy! I’m Marleigh, the Prickly Chick, if my mouth doesn’t say it, my face will LOL! I am the Longarm Quilter here at Two Chicks Quilting and I take care of all of our quilting services. I am also a Certified Handi Quilter Technician. When you come into the shop you can typically find me at the Amara20, Amara24, or the Infinity. Stop by the quilting area and ask me about our longarms and services! When I am not working. I love spending time with my family, especially sharing my love of quilting with my Nonnie.
Autumn
I’m Autumn, the “Know-It-All” social media/marketing Chick. If I don’t have my nose buried in social media like a teenager, designing graphics, or updating our calendar of events, you might find me acting in our local community theater. Mom of three great girls and one adorable grandbaby who just so happens to be my “Mini-Me”. I try not to laugh at my own jokes, but we all know I’m hilarious.
Krissa
Hi! I am Krissa and I am the Chick who takes care of our inventory, ensuring all of your favorite items stay stocked for all of your quilting needs! Most of the time I stay in the corner counting, but sometimes I scream “nobody puts Baby in the corner” and escape to enjoy our customers visiting the shop. When I am not working with The Chicks you will find me chasing around my two children, curled up with a book or spending every minute possible with my family!
Billy
I am the Mr. Fix It here at The Coop providing machine maintenance and repairs to keep your machines quilting along. When I am not digging fuzz balls out of machines, I enjoy spending time with family and spoiling our two grandbabies along with my wife, Glenda.
