Join us for another fun and creative Chicks Remix class as we take an ordinary sweatshirt and turn it into a one-of-a-kind quilted creation!

In this hands-on class, you'll learn how to add beautiful patchwork quilted sleeves to a sweatshirt, giving it a whole new look!

You'll learn how to piece your patchwork fabrics together and quilt them directly onto the original sweatshirt sleeves, using the sleeves themselves as your batting and backing. No need to completely reconstruct your sweatshirt!

Whether you love bold colors, fun prints, or something a little more subtle, this is your chance to create a sweatshirt that's uniquely YOU!

✂️ Supplies Needed

Sweatshirt & Fabric:

  • 1 oversized sweatshirt or hoodie (We recommend choosing one size larger than you normally wear.)

  • Coordinating fabrics for patchwork sleeves:

    • Adult sizes S–XL: 1½ yards total

    • Adult sizes 2XL & up: 2 yards total

Sewing & Cutting Supplies:

  • Rotary cutter

  • Ruler for cutting strips and 2½" squares

  • Seam gauge

  • Fabric marking pen or chalk

  • Seam ripper

  • Pins

  • Wonder Clips

  • Coordinating thread for piecing and quilting

  • Basting spray

  • Sewing machine in good working order

💕 Optional, but Recommended

  • Project iron

  • Ironing mat

  • Walking foot
