Summer is heating up and that means it’s time for a quilting road trip to your favorite local quilt shops for Row by Row! 

What is Row by Row?

The Row by Row Experience takes place every summer, spanning across the country. Quilters visit shops and collect individual row quilt patterns and combine them to create their own unique quilts. Each shop designs a row that fits that year’s theme, and is personalized to their shop.

Our row features our favorite summertime trip with awesome Texas views: tubing down the river! Whether it is the Guadalupe or the Frio, these cool Texas waters sure feel nice on a hot summer day! This fabric kit is PRE-CUT and PRE-FUSED, ready to just piece the background and fuse down your pieces ready to be appliqued. A highlight for us is the opportunity to participate with a group of awesome shops for a collaboration quilt this year “Road Trip USA”. Click here to see the list of participating shops! 

How to Join

Participating in the Row by Row Experience is simple.

Here’s how to get started:

1. Visit Our Shop: Through August 31, drop by Two Chicks Quilting to collect your free row pattern. Patterns are only available in person! We cannot email or mail them out to you. 
2. Explore Other Shops: The Row by Row Experience goes from coast to coast! You can use the interactive map on the Row by Row Experience website to discover participating shops and collect more free row patterns.
3. Create Your Quilt: Once you’ve collected 8 different row patterns from 8 different, combine them into a quilt however you wish. The sky’s the limit! 
4. Win A Prize: Every Row by Row shop has a fantastic prize to give out! To win, you must be the first person to bring in a completed Row by Row quilt using 8 different rows from 8 different 2023 participating quilt shops. Completed means that it must be quilted, bound and labeled. Congrats to the Two Chicks Quilting Winner! 

Extra Fun

You can not only collect the free patterns at each shop, but fun fabric license plates as you travel! We’ve seen people incorporate them into their Row by Row quilt tops or in the labels as fun extra mementos of their travels.
